It is now time to share what we learned with one another in the form of practice teaching.
When focusing on the relevance of Phillipians 4:8, Christian Meditation will be a highlight to your Christian yoga classes.
Now it is time to take what we’ve learned and put it into practice!
We are creating Mini Master Class using Christian Meditation and both types of Scriptural Affirmations: Breath Meditation, “I AM”
Statements, and Devotions.
(Refer to Lesson 2-3 for an in-depth explanation of each option if needed).
Take Note: This is a wonderful opportunity to refer to your Master List we began building in Module 1.
Call to Action Part One:
Step 1:
Select two different scriptures that have the same scriptural theme.
Example:
Scriptural Theme: Love
Scripture 1- 1 Corinthians 16:1- Let all that you do be done in love. (ESV)
Scripture 2- Colossians 3:14- And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony. (ESV)
Step 2:
Create a Breath Meditation and “I AM” statement using your selected scriptures with the same theme.
Example:
Breath Meditation:
Inhale: Let all that you do
Exhale: be done in love
“I AM” statement:
Inhale: I AM
Exhale: Putting on Love
Call to Action: Part Two
Select a Devotional that ties in with your theme. There are free resources if you need them listed in lesson 3.
Step 1: Create a mini class. Select 6-8 poses total from the style of yoga you teach. Incorporate the Christian Meditation: Scriptural Affirmations of Breath Meditation and “I AM” Statements in the ways we discussed from lesson 2.
Step 2: Use a devotional reading of your choice (you can use the one you wrote from lesson 4) and place it in the appropriate sequencing of a class (Beginning, Before Final Relaxation, During Final Relaxation, or at the closing.) Select a type of breathing exercise to incorporate before you read the devotion. Balanced breathing, UJAYII Breath, Belly Breathing, Nostril Breathing (left, right, or alternate) are all applicable.
Guidelines for Class Creation:
Visual- Demonstrate the poses.
Auditory- Cue how to get into the poses.
Kinesthetic- Explain what you feel in the poses.
Step Three- Record the Class
It’s your time to shine for Christ from the mat! Hallelujah!
Be the teacher God has called you to be! Colossians 4:2
