Prayer: Create Your Own
We’ve now covered many aspects of prayer, and it’s now time to create our own!
Enjoy this portion of the practice and be expectant that the prayers of a righteous person are “powerful and effective.” James 5:16.
Rely on the Holy Spirit, as it says in Romans 8:26, as you create words of beauty for our Creator and your students.
We use the ACTS model as our guide in writing prayers that connect to scriptural themes.
Call to Action:
Follow this process to create a heartfelt prayer that will honor the Lord and bless your students.
Getting Started:
Pray and invite God to partner with you in creating your prayer. Select a scriptural theme from your Master List. Consider using the ACTS model for guidance or allow the prayer to be Holy Spirit led. If you chose to go on your own, then be sure to open the prayer by addressing God the Father and close the prayer in Jesus’s name. Create a prayer that is approximately 8-15 sentences. Repeat the process a few more times until you have crafted 3-4 prayers with different themes that you would be delighted to share in your classes. Make a video reading one of your prayers as if you were teaching a yoga class. Talk through it like you are the teacher, and we are the students. Upload your video to the PCYTT Facebook group.
Perspective is essential in this lesson. This is your opportunity to use your voice to lift up words of meaning, truth, love, thanksgiving, and need to our Father in heaven!
Remember, prayer is a spiritual discipline with high importance to God. The more you pray, the easier your words flow and the more confident you feel in leading prayer.
Enjoy practicing prayer; your PerfectFit community can’t wait to hear the words God lays upon your heart!
